prettiness [21 Feb 2006|11:31am]
Pete and I went to the pub last night after he finnished work. We had dinner there and then sat reading the papers. It was very nice actually, and we had dinner there too. I felt a bit pissed actually, then we went to tesco, and ended up buying 3 cds. They had Leisure, and Modern Life is Rubbish both fr a fiver each! bargain! so i snapped em up. I used to look at them Regis Records and Sydney Scarborough in Hull when I was about 14. I only ever had them on a tape someone did for me, as they were quite expensive out of my pocket money back then. The picture on the back of leisre is abslutely gorgeous, and Alex looks perfect. He was the first bloke I fancied when I was growing up. When we got home, we just dossed about and then read a bit more book.

[ music | Fly me Away - Goldfrapp ]

We went to see Goldfrapp last night and they were totally amazing! I got all dressed up to since it was a special night

We got there early to queue, and also had a drink in the dirty pub down the side of the theatre. When we got in (10 mins early actually!)we got a good space slightly to the right of the centre of the stage with a lovely view. The support band were fucking excellent! They were called 'Hot Chip' and kind of like New Order crossed with Interpol, in a slightly garage style. They are really hard to describe though as they are so unique. Quite possibly they were one of the best live acts I've ever seen. You can check them out at http://www.myspace.com/hotchip
After a really long break in the show, Goldfrapp came on. Alison came on last and was walking really slowly, then I saw what she had on her feet. The biggest heels ever! She looked amaxing though, and the tight curls are back again

She looked so so pretty! They started with Utopia (or fruitopia as Pete and I call it, after the rival fruit and veg shop of Bananarama where pete used to work) She had a seperate microphone for all the effect vocals, but I cant believe what an amazing voice that lady has! She must be a classicaly trained singer or something to be able to do that. I noticed the bass player looked really cool too, and has some really funky moves.

About three songs in they played Train, and some dancers in bikinis and wolf masks came out!

It worked really well having them there, as its a big stage, so it might have been a bit empty otherwise. They did some really dirty moves though! Alison was kind of cute and cheeky tonight, rather than being really dirty like she normally is on stage. She looked really happy to, and not pissed off like she normally does. That was lovely to see. She also actually talked to the crowd. I think my favourite song of the night was Fly Me Away. It seemed all dreamy, and the backdrop to the stage was lit up in blue and white like the sky. They finnished with Strict Machine, where the dancers came out again. The whole stage looked really gorgeous and energetic.

oooo yes! while I remember, I forgot to mention the lovely Baldrick on Violin. I didn't get a picture of him, but he was ace. One more picture of Alison because she's lovely!

lots of cake and things [19 Feb 2006|01:14pm]
The carrot cake that I baked over the weekend was yummy! The weekend has been ok, I went to Hull for work which was all very lovely. They had lots of flowers left over from Valentines night, so me Jane and Helga wore them in our hair and looked super stylish. We have a new entertainment source at work too (not the 'The Vegans')There is a flat across the way down Bishop Lane, and from the restaurant we can see into it over the blinds. It's this guy named Diddle who lives there with his lady friend. He walks around with no pants on and his cock out, and we get to see all their goings on. He sounds gross TBH. He went for a piss and wiped the seat afterwards using the same towel that they get dried with. He was trying to get some diddle action with his bird, and she just carried on texting her friends. Aw, diddles lass cried too, as she couldn't find her cigs. Poor Diddles Lass. It's sooooo addictive watching them! I think I will ask for a table with a diddle view when we go in for dinner next weekend. hahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahIt was Indian night at Hitchcocks , one of the yummiest themes I reckon. I'm still reading Harry Potter, and shamefully enjoying it.

Pete and I are going to see Goldfrapp tonight at the appolo. Very excited about it. I've got false eye lashes to wear with lots of glitter etc. I hope to take lots of pretty pictures which I will post on here.

Heres a pretty picture that I took of pete earlier playing darts on his leopard print dressing gown.

Nearly the weekend! [17 Feb 2006|11:14am]

[ music | This Morning with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford ]

I feel much more motivated today and have a cracking essay plan in order. I will have to see how it goes... I don't have to work tonight, so I will surprise pete with a nice tea and DVD when he gets home from work. Kimi is going completely crazy this morning. I think he has finally lost the plot! I heard all this fuss, and he had put all his toys in the bath, and was sliding up and down the slope at the back. Silly Kitty! There wasn't any water in it luckily, that would just be sick and wrong wouldn't it? I got one of those dodgy 30p magazines yeterday, where they have a woman smiling on the front of it, with some really traumatic feature advertised on the cover. Oh yeah, and some woman saying her 'designer vagina was a bargain' Hehe! It's a wonderful ego boost when you read those articles you know.

I ate too many biscuits and now I feel sick. bleugh. Why can't I just do things in moderation like a normal person? Still no further with Harry Potter and I now hate it more than ever. I want bad things to happen to that kid, with sticks and stuff.

Wetherspoons was good, appart from Pete and Luke comparing som random guy to Andy Fordham. We're so going to get kicked in one of these days. After that we went to Sainsburys where luke worked out the prices of individual tea bags.

?????? [15 Feb 2006|03:04pm]
[ mood | curious ]
[ music | Lazy - Suede ]

It was really really strange this morning. I got an email from a girl I went to college with, asking if I fancied meeting up for a drink some time soon. Thats all nice and all that, but I haven't heard from her in about 4 years! Apparantly she's still in Hull, so I asked if she wanted to meet on Saturday afternoon before I go to work. I really can't help wondering if something is wrong though. We got into a bit of a awkward situation, and then sort of lost contact a few months later. I lost my phone, so we didnt have each others numbers after that. Even more strange though, I had a dream about her a few weeks ago. How very odd!

The Uni stuff is still all poo. I thought I worked better under pressure, but that obviously isn't the case. To top it all off, I have to reed fucking Harry Potter again by Monday. Why do so many adults rate that book so highy?

I promised Pete I would go out for drinks and tea with him tonight. I have so much work to do though, and I don't want to don't want to get anymore behind. I hate breaking promises though, and Pete is more than supportive of me going back to uni. I hardly spend any propper time with him these days. Meh

Hmmmm, should I just go for that drink, or try to find out if anything is wrong first? I guess all will be revealed.

Right, I'm going to write a 2000 word essay with this title

'Historical knowledge is an essencial tool in understanding the significance of any individual artefact'(Peter Widowson)
Using texts from at least two historical periods studied on the module, discuss the validity of this statement.

Hmmmm. Thats exactly whan I've been saying since september though and it's due in tomorrow.

I'm a lazy girl [14 Feb 2006|11:37am]
[ mood | stressed ]
[ music | PJ Harvey ]

Why can't I motivate myself and do some bloody work? Ive been staring at the same page for about half an hour and it wont sink it. Bloody stupid Dickens. I have 2500 words every week up to the end of term, sometimes double or three times that. If I carry on like this I'm going to fail the year and end up working in a crappy job and being miserable for ever and ever. If the idea of reading week is to do extra work and catch up, then how come I can't do that? I must be really dense. I wish I could live faster than time just for a few days, so that I can catch up and keep on top of things. Silly books. Stupid fucking books.
